Privacy Policy

Hearth keeps your settings on your own device and runs no server that collects your data.

Hearth (“the extension”, “we”, “us”) is a Chrome new-tab extension. This policy explains what data Hearth handles and how.

What Hearth stores, and where

Everything you create in Hearth is saved locally on your device using Chrome’s storage.local:

• your daily goal and its completion state, and your greeting text;
• ambient mixer levels, saved presets, master volume, and focus-tone settings;
• Pomodoro settings and your focus-time and streak statistics;
• theme, font, quick links, world clocks, countdown, and the “show quote” setting;
• any custom background image you choose (kept as data on your device, never uploaded);
• your Premium unlock status.

We do not transmit this information to any server operated by us. We do not operate a server that receives it.

Optional cross-device sync

If you turn on “Sync settings across devices” in Settings, a small subset of your settings (such as theme, font, Pomodoro configuration, presets, mixer levels, quick links, world clocks, countdown, and Premium status) is stored with Chrome’s built-in storage.sync. That data travels through your own Google account and Chrome Sync, governed by Google’s privacy policy; it is not sent to any Hearth server. Your custom background image is never synced and always stays local. You can turn sync off at any time.

Permissions, and why we use them

• storage — to save your settings and progress, as described above.
• notifications — only if you enable break reminders; used to show a desktop notification when a Pomodoro phase ends. No data leaves your device.
• Access to extensionpay.com — used only to process the optional one-time Premium purchase and to check your paid status (see below).

Payments

Premium is an optional one-time purchase handled by ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com) and Stripe. If you choose to buy Premium:

• Checkout and payment are handled entirely by ExtensionPay and Stripe. Hearth never sees or stores your card details.
• ExtensionPay and Stripe process the data needed to take payment (such as your email address and payment details) under their own privacy policies: ExtensionPay and Stripe.
• Hearth only receives a “paid / not paid” status for your account, in order to unlock features.

If you never purchase Premium, no payment data is involved at all.

Analytics and tracking

Hearth contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers. We do not profile you, and we do not sell or share any data. The only network requests the extension makes are to ExtensionPay, and only in connection with the optional Premium purchase or verification.

Children

Hearth is a general-audience productivity tool and is not directed to children under 13.

Your choices and rights

• Delete your data: uninstalling Hearth removes its local data. You can also clear it from chrome://extensions, or by removing the extension.
• Sync: turn cross-device sync on or off at any time in Settings.
• For any payment data held by ExtensionPay or Stripe, you can exercise your data rights (including UK and EU GDPR rights such as access and erasure) by contacting them, or us at the address below, and we will help direct your request.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; the “Last updated” date above will change, and material changes will be reflected in the Chrome Web Store listing.
